I still remember the first item I purchased from my mobile app is a pair of shoes from Vancl’s mobile app in 2014 using cash on delivery payment method when I was working in China. (VANCL is an internet apparel brand in China providing men’s and women’s fashions, shoes, jeans, and other lifestyle goods.)
In the past 2 years, we see more and more mobile commerce apps coming up which helps the brands to gain more customers and sales, there are 2 major changes in mobile marketing:
First, Google announced a major algorithm update that rewards mobile-friendly websites, and penalizes those that aren’t fully optimized for mobile in mobile search results.
Soon after this change, the number of Google search queries on smartphones surpass the number of queries on desktop computers and tablets.
Since then, the number of consumers researching and buying on their mobile devices has only increased. Global mobile commerce now makes up 34% of all ecommerce transactions around the world, and it’s predicted to grow 31% in 2017.
